Gelato, Ice Cream, or Yogurt: Which Is Better?

Gelato, Ice Cream, or Yogurt: Which Is Better?

Don’t know which sweet treat you want to eat? We at Sunny Daes know this struggle all too much. Churning out sweet treats in Stamford, Connecticut, on the daily, we often get asked which one is the better choice. Well, it all depends on your preferences.

Frozen yogurt does not use cream. Its dairy comes from cultured milk, which contains good bacteria that gives it its signature tart flavor. But some of these don’t use milk at all and would be perfect for you if you’re lactose intolerant or have dietary restrictions.

Ice cream is made from cream as it requires at least 10% milkfat. This makes it higher in fat content compared to our fro-yo. Water, milk, cream, and sugar are churned rapidly to come up with this creamy and light concoction. This is perfect if you’re going for something sweet and fluffy without caring for a diet.

If you’re going for the ice cream experience with less fat, then you might as well grab some gelato in Westport, Connecticut. Gelato also uses cream, but it has no required minimum of milk fat. Gelato is also churned slower than ice cream, which makes it denser, milkier, and more flavorful than ice cream despite containing less fat.

Don’t limit yourself, though!! The ingredients may vary from brand to brand, so some ice cream may be healthier than other brands of frozen yogurt or gelato.

Either way, all these three treats still have nutritional benefits of protein, calcium, potassium, and other vitamins. Either of these three would be a great dessert in Trumbull, Connecticut.

Craving something sweet and cold? We offer frozen yogurt, ice cream, and gelato! We also have other sweet treats such as ice cream floats, smoothies, slushies, cakes, and Sundaes in Fairfield, Connecticut.
